Women’s Safety NSW Annual Report 2019-2020

Women’s Safety NSW is excited to announce our Annual Report for 2019/20. Women’s Safety NSW continues to be awe of our members’ resilience, professionalism and commitment in supporting and advocating for women impacted by domestic and family violence.

2019-20 has been a year like to other, with member services dealing with terrible bushfires the COVID pandemic and a tendering and commissioning process for their operation. Throughout this period, Women’s Safety NSW consulted closely with the membership on the impacts of COVID on themselves, their series and their clients. We produced series of targeted reports and briefing papers and kept policy makers and the public informed as the trends being observerd on the frontline and urgent need for additional resources and policy action. This advocacy, alongside the advocacy of our partners and allies, resulted in some funding relief for the sector and in some new initiatives, although resources were slow to be released.

Organisationally, Women’s Safety NSW has continued to grow in strength and depth. We could not have achieved all that we have without our amazing team of staff, incredible volunteers, professional pro bono supports and the strategic direction of our board – thank you!
